Atvero launches new project information management solution

Atvero, a trademark of IT and consultancy services provider Nittygritty.net, has launched a project information management (PIM) solution on the Office365 SharePoint platform that offers a powerful on-cloud project delivery capability for design and construction professionals.

Atvero sales and marketing director, Paul Daynes, said: “Design and construction companies that have or are looking to migrate to cloud strategies, will benefit hugely from this smarter way to manage project deliverables and communication, when compared with on-premise PIM solutions.”

The launch comes as the architect and masterplanner Chapman Taylor announced it has chosen Atvero to support its global operations.

Chapman Taylor director Andy Hudson explained: “Atvero PIM provides us with a modern and scalable project information management solution that meets our business needs for the next decade and beyond. To be competitive, win and deliver more successful projects, we need a platform that gives us flexibility, but also rigour in our project delivery processes. Atvero PIM offers us this capability.”

Chapman Taylor’s incumbent PIM capability did not provide a scaleable platform for its business strategies as Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint lacked the workflows necessary to support industry and BIM standards within a highly dynamic and integrated project delivery environment.

Atvero PIM seamlessly integrates with existing Office365 subscriptions and delivers a cloud-based solution to enable users to organise and centralise the creation and management of project emails, documents and drawings that comply with both company and industry standards.

Highlights of the new package include: project files access and project-wide search; project email management, with Outlook365; configurable project summary pages; global and project contact library with roles and competencies; file naming compliance to BS 1192/ISO 19650-2 or to company standards; file versioning, revisioning, suitability codes and co-authoring; document management; document QA, status and issue control; and information access via desktop, web and mobile.

Minneapolis hiring social media influencers for former police officers’ trials

George Floyd died in police custody in May 2020 | Getty Minneapolis is hiring social media influencers to share “city-generated and approved messages” during the trials of four former city police officers charged in the May 2020 killing of George Floyd, according to the Minnesota Reformer . The Minneapolis city council approved the plan on Friday, which calls for six influencers to be paid about $2,000 each to spread the city’s messages with Black, Native American, Hmong, and Latino communities. The goal is to “address/dispel incorrect information” by using “trusted messengers,” part of a program the city refers to as its Joint Information System to share “timely and relevant information” with the public during the trials. “Through the Communications and Neighborhood and Community Relations... Android Addition Opens FIDO Password Killer to Billions

The FIDO Alliance hammered another nail into the passwords coffin with the announcement that devices running Android 7.0 or higher will be compatible with FIDO2. Certification of Android 7.0+ means devices running those versions of Google's mobile operating system will support FIDO2 out of the box or through a software update. FIDO2, introduced last year, provides a FIDO Web authentication standard that combines the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Authentication specification with FIDO's Client-to-Authenticator protocol. from TechNewsWorld https://ift.tt/2GQVG4f
