Leaked Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus image offers another look at extra-wide hole-punch camera

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ front and rear in what is reportedly an official render.

We’ve got what seems to be another good look at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 Plus. This time the leak comes from 91Mobiles, which claims these are official press images.

What we can see here lines up with earlier leaks of the S10 Plus, showing an extra-wide, dual-lens, hole-punch camera in the top right of the display, and a strip of lenses and flash modules on the rear. The icons on the lock screen also match previous images, suggesting that Samsung is updating its UI in 2019 with rounded and slightly cutesy icons.

What’s notably missing in this render is a rear fingerprint sensor. That suggests that the S10 line-up will indeed offer an in-display fingerprint sensor instead — a feature we’ve seen from a handful of companies including V...

Pandora Stories lets artists add commentary to their own playlists

Pandora launched Stories today, a tool that lets artists and creators add voice commentary to their own playlists. The Stories feature merges podcasts with music playlists, and is meant for artists to add context to an album, or for podcasters to experiment with new storytelling formats. The feature is part of Pandora AMP, the streaming service’s free Artist Marketing Platform that helps creators promote their work. Instagram’s updated algorithm prioritizes original content instead of rip-offs

The slew of changes were announced by the company in a blog post today. The biggest change deals with aggregators — accounts that download or screenshot other users’ videos and photos and repost them. Sometimes aggregators will credit the original poster by tagging them in the post or caption, but often, content is wholesale ripped off with no acknowledgment, and engagement is siphoned off from the person who created the content in the first place. Experts are furious over the FCC’s rosy picture of broadband access

To hear the Federal Communications Commission tell it, this is a golden age for broadband access in the United States. According to a newly released report from the agency on the digital divide, the gap between rural and urban internet access has “narrowed substantially, and more Americans than ever before have access to high-speed broadband.” Between the end of 2016 and the end of 2017, the number of Americans without broadband access fell from about 26 million to about 21 million, the report found.
